Performance Powered by Samsung's octa-core Exynos 5433 processer, (the same chip in the Galaxy Note 4 ($307.97 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) ), the Tab S2 whizzed through benchmark tests, but it's not quite a category leader. Scoring 46,918 on the Antutu test, which measures overall performance, the Tab S2 was bested by some of the competition, including last year's Nexus 9 (49,608). It just barely edged out the smaller Asus ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) ($148.77 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) (45,891), and it smoked the similarly sized LG G Pad 10.1 (17,035) and the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro (32,909) in terms of overall performance.
Conclusions The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is one of the best Android tablets on the market. It's incredibly thin and light, has useful multitasking features, and excels at media playback. But its high price and average battery life make the 8-inch Tab S2 a better buy, unless you really need that additional 1.7 inches of screen. And if you do, you might want to consider the iPad Air 2. It's not nearly as configurable as the Tab S2, but iOS is still home to more, higher-quality tablet apps than Android, and the iPad Air 2 remains our Editors' Choice for large-screen tablets.
Weight, design, and software features made the new Galaxy Tab one of the best tablets to date back in 2015, even though the slate looked like it was doing its best impression of an iPad, and wasn't too different from previous Samsung tablets.
Samsung has revealed full details of two new flagship Android tablets: the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and 8.0. We described the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 as \"the best 10in Android tablet\" when we reviewed it last year, largely thanks to its superb screen, but Samsung has made significant changes to this year's model.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series packs a slew of features. The phones offer bright AMOLED displays, cameras capable of a minimum of 30x zoom across the lineup, big batteries, and more. While the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the best from Samsung, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus also pack top-notch features. But does the Galaxy S23 series have wireless charging
The Tab S2's screen is brighter than the iPad Air 2's and the Surface 3's (450 nits versus 345 nits and 407 nits, respectively), but Apple's tablet offers more accurate colors. On the Delta-E test, where a score close to 0 is best, Samsung's slate registered 4.07, compared to a near-perfect 0.9 for the iPad and 3.1 for the Surface 3. The Venue 10 7000 (249 nits, 10.2 Delta-E) wasn't even close in those two categories.
Beyond just the placement issues the speakers just aren't that loud, which again is unsurprising considering the thinness and weight of the tablet. With all of the high-end features and components on offer in the Tab S2, the speaker is the one really disappointing aspect of it. You're probably best off plugging a pair of good headphones into the tablet if you're going to sit down for anything longer than a 10-minute YouTube video.
But some of the best savings this weekend belong to the high-performance laptops. Anyone looking for a new MacBook Pro can get the Apple MacBook Pro MLH42LL/A(Opens in a new tab) for $2099, $700 down from the original $2799 price.
